If you´re considering coming to Buenos Aires and want to volunteer, Voluntario Global is definitely your best option.

Voluntario Global is a community-based organization. We work in grassroot developments within impoverished areas of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our objective is to promote lasting changes in the lives of families, by providing educational support and professional experience. Our programs help people obtain real jobs and improve their living conditions independently.

Voluntario Global offers an opportunity to help and get involved with real communities within Buenos Aires. There are many programs available from working with children in community centres, helping in soup kitchens, teaching English to adults and working on the local radio station.

Voluntario Global is a non-profit making organisation and recieves no funding from the Government. In order to continue running the programs and help the communities we ask for a small donation which goes directly to the projects and the coordinators who look after the programs and volunteers.

For more information about the organisation and volunteering opportunities please visit our website http://www.voluntarioglobal.org.ar or send an e-mail to contact@voluntarioglobal.com.ar

Voluntario Global is an investor in people and their training, and we also communicate and join forces with other organizations so that we can create appropriate volunteering programs. Our primary goal is to enhance the local community’s organization by working in conjunction with various community leaders. We are in close contact with many community centers where we reach out to people who are able to further our mission.
Our new website is on the verge of publication and we need a qualified individual to add some important finishing touches. The volunteer would work with a dedicated group of volunteers from Argentina and abroad.

Health Care Volunteer Project (Buenos Aires)

Volunteers will assist and observe in local clinics and communities in the outskirts of Buenos Aires. This project is ideal for volunteers with a basic medical background, interest in medical care, or who may be embarking upon medical studies in the future.

The volunteer may be involved in the following tasks:
- Assisting the clinic supervisors with the many people requiring medical help, especially children and young adults from the neighborhood.

- Assisting- if medically qualified- in pregnancy tests, baby weighing, the checking of vitals (temperature, blood pressure, heart beat etc) and also having the opportunity to sit in on consultations should the doctor on duty and the patient consent.

- Assisting in sorting and labeling medication in the clinic pharmacy.

- Assisting Health Promoters in the evaluation of the neighborhood and its needs. Working in promoting awareness against violence, as well as, education and prevention of communicable and noncommunicable diseases.

The project is open to both medically qualified and non-qualified volunteers. You can also help out in the administration area, as there are plenty of patient files that need uploading onto the clinic computer system. The accurate data capturing of this information is of great importance and thus this is an essential activity.

The schedule would run Monday to Friday, about 4-5 hours a day. A high intermediate level of Spanish is required, along with a minimum stay of 2 months.

Aura's House

Hi Everyone,

I am a volunteer and partner in a charitable group called Aura's House. We are a small, grassroots group who partners with Children International, a large, respected charity you may know of, to help sponsored children or their families get that extra help they need to move towards a better life. We post several projects on our site at a time to raise donations for. We are looking for new donors and volunteers. It can't hurt for you to just take a look at our site and see what we do. Feel free to check with Children International to confirm we are a legitimate.

Volunteer for Aura's House for as little as 2 hours per month and help make a difference! This is perfect for people who want to make a difference but don't really have the time to run here there and everywhere. We, of course, are fine with you donating more than two hours per month. :) You can do as little as posting on Craigslist to get us more volunteers and donations. For those of you who are more ambitious you can help with our website, create a fundraiser or think of some new creative way to help. The partners for this charitable site are open-minded and always looking for new ways to fund our projects! The faster we fund projects, the more families and children are helped. Please click the link below to see how you can help and what we are all about!

http://aurashouse.com/how-you-can-help/

OR if you don't have time to volunteer but would like to make a donation please pick from one of our 4 current projects. Diego, Maria, Aura and Gema could sure use your donation to help make a better life for their family. Donations of as little as $1 do add up and help a lot!

http://aurashouse.com/

Thank-you and have a great day!
